Many businesses must meet the Government's new minimum data standards when providing information to super funds.
The ATO has advised that small businesses (those with 19 or fewer employees) have until 28 October 2016 to meet these standards. However, you should aim to be compliant as a soon as possible as the official deadline was 1 July 2016.
Contribution data must be provided online - emailed data is no longer accepted. Payments must be made by EFT, Direct Debit or BPAY.
Contribution data must include the payment reference (or BPAY biller code and reference number) used for each contribution. This ensures money is allocated to the correct account.
You can change your payment preferences in Employer Access via My Details > Manage Preferences.
